This rare metal weave Dorset Rex purse is the only one I’ve ever with what I believe to be the velvet mohair flowers on the top. I usually see the lucite top.The purse measures-Height- 4 5/8″ Length 8 5/8″ Depth 5 1/2″ Purse handle drop 3.5″Condition-Other than a few light scratches on the purse (see photos) and some wear on the edges of the lid and the purse handle edges this purse is in excellent condition. No odors No stains, rust, or dents And absolutely no mildew or clouding of the clear plastic top (a rarity for this style purse) The velvet mohair flowers are beautiful and clean over any signs of fading or damage. Purse lid moves freely and lock is secureFrom its address on New York’s upscale Fifth Avenue, Dorset Rex sold highly desirable handbags starting in 1951 with the amalgamation of Dorset and the compact maker Rex. This basket weave basket was one of its popular styles that was also sold by high end department stores, worn on the harm of every stylish woman from New York to California.
