After machining it is bead-blasted and finished with a bluing process. Your trigger pull poundage will decrease.Best way to measure your trigger is to use a micrometer. But most people only have calipers, and the trigger guard gets in the way. So just get 2 small pieces of metal that are known widths. Place those on both sides of your trigger and measure with the calipers, then subtract out the metal pieces. That will get you the width of the trigger. These trigger shoes are somewhat universal with some limits. Your trigger shoe width should be about .002″ to .020″ wider than your trigger for optimal fit. However, with the setscrews coming from both sides on these shoes, you can use a bigger slot width shoe on a thinner trigger; down to about 1/16″ smaller trigger width. These shoes will fit different radii of triggers; depends on your comfort and application. You should also measure the height of the trigger in the pulled position. I would not recommend a wider trigger shoe than the trigger guard if you are using a holster as the sides can catch on the holster material and cause an accident. So best would be finding a shoe width less than that specific trigger guard width or never use a holster.
