When you first get it please wet it and take it outdoors to look at in natural sunlight. You are doing this so your looking at it in the same conditions the image was taken with. If you look at a piece of rough opal dry and under indoors light, it will look nothing like the picture. The pictures were taken wet to show what it should look like once its cut. I use natural sunlight to take pictures of opal as this is the best light source for opal photography to display the raw natural beauty of opal.
