I sourced a connector and the necessary cables to enable each of the thunderbolt ports of the card to support USB 2.0 – but that requires two usb connections to the ports at the back of your mac. As a result, I cut a small piece of the card off to enable the necessary cable to pass through Sleds· The computer comes with two pre-populated 2.5” sleds and one empty 3.5” sled that can support large capacity drives · The computer comes with a 2TB Samsung EVO 860 Pro drive (on which Montery is installed) and a 500GB WD RED SSD drive (on which Mojave is installed) Upper Bay· The computer comes with a SuperDrive· The carrier of the SuperDrive has been replaced by a carrier that can accommodate the SuperDrive and 2 x 3.5” drives. I have extended the power supply from one SuperDrive to accommodate additional drives and have added one SATA extension cable – so adding an extra drive is straightforward. · To add a second drive, you would need to install a SATA PCIe card and run it to the upper bay (which can be tricky).
