This little girl is Nancy Ann Storybook doll Season Series #92, Autumn offered by Snowdrift Antiques.She is a 5½” bisque pudgy tummy doll with jointed legs and short arms. Her red hair is in very good condition, with its original wavy set and some flyaways. Red is the most unusual of the hair colors Nancy Ann used, you do not see it as often as the other colors. She has the STORY/BOOK/DOLL/USA/11 mark on her back. Did not find any chips or beaks to the bisque on her body.Her original clothes are in very good condition. She wears an orange taffeta dress with a shorter gold taffeta overskirt – they really showcase an autumn color palette. There are 3 felt leaves tied to her skirt with red ribbon; the felt is faded on the leaves. In her hair she has a coordinating orange felt leaf held in place with a red ribbon tie. Underneath are her original white cotton panties and her separate white cotton underskirt. Her dress and under garments close with brass safety pins. I did not find any holes or tears on her dress but there are a few very small dark spots on the dress, see images 8 & 9. There are also two small holes in the slip at the hem in front where a price tag was probably stapled at one point, see image 10.She still retains her gold foil wrist tag which reads “Storybook Dolls by Nancy Ann” on one side and “92 Autumn” on the other, is in excellent condition. Similar doll is pictured on p. 111, middle right, in the Encyclopedia of Bisque Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls by Pardee and Robertson.Metal doll stand included.From a non-smoking home.
