This Alessi Remote 5000 Series 8″ Wafer Prober looks to be in good cosmetic condition, showing some signs of wear (there are a few significant scuffs on the sides of the base). Among other things, it features an 8-inch Thermal Vacuum Chuck (controller NOT included), a Mitutoyo WF Microscope Head (1X-2X Zoom) with WF 10X/24 Eyepieces, a Motorized 4-Port Turret (no objectives included), a Mitutoyo Fiber Optic Illuminator (code no. 378 664) with Remote, a Cascade Microtech ERJ-02 Joystick, a Sentech STC-620CC-CM Video Camera with power adapter and cables, and one MH-9733-28 Micropositioning Probe, as shown. The system powers up, and is responsive to the Joystick, and the Illuminator powers up, and the light intensity is adjustable. The XYZØ travel of the Stage is responsive to the Joystick controls, and seems smooth and quiet. The X-Axis (side to side) travel of the Microscope Head is responsive to the Joystick, and seems smooth and quiet. The Z-Axis (up/down) travel of the Microscope Head is also responsive to the Joystick, but the motion seems jerky and labored at times. The Y-Axis (forward/back) of the Microscope Head seems to be disengaged from the motorized positioning assembly, as it slides freely. Also, I removed the covers to the motors, and the Y-Axis motor appears to be damaged [the encoder cover is cracked, and the rotary encoder glass scale is broken (a section of the scale fell out)]. The motor makes a humming sound in response to the Joystick, but the dial on the back of the motor does not turn. The motorized turret (missing cable), and video camera, are untested.
