Vintage carved wood rope twist barometer with open face porcelain dial. This barometer has a brass bezel and a beveled glass face. The stationary pointer is brass, the moving pointer is black with a crescent moon end. The face is nicely decorated in ornate black letters with red capital letters between the mechanism and the gauge markings. The carved rope twist outer wood setting (unknown type) is in dark brown. It has a brass hangar ring. The mechanism is accessible through a metal cover screwed into the back of the base. There is dust on the inside of the glass cover. It is in excellent vintage working condition. There are no maker’s mark. Please see all photos as they comprise part of the description. The barometer face is 4 ¾ inches in diameter, the whole piece is 7 inches in diameter and 1 ¾ inches thick.
