I originally bought this set with the intention of using it for music and zoom calls. The original drivers are horrendous even after SoundID tuning. I had a donor pair of Sennheiser HD 280s and decided to use the drivers to improve this headset. It finally sounds great. I find it to be better than the original Sennheiser HD 280 Pro with improved low end response, probably due to the additional sealed baffle in the earcup. I highly recommend using a DAC or headphone amp to drive these headphones although it will work fine on a motherboard or console soundcard. The nominal impedance has increased from 28 to 64 ohms with the new drivers. This headset has an impressive detachable boom mic which was the only reason I decided to keep and modify the headset. All original equipment is provided and I will include the original drivers upon request but I’m warning you they are muddy with a swept response and do not belong in this headset. Oddly, they don’t have a serial number or markings of any kind. I’m only selling because I am using a wireless Audio Technica headset for convenience. This set has only been used for testing, less than 30 minutes total and is essentially New. I think any audiophile who games will be quite impressed at the performance of both the headphones and the mic.
