These are by far the rarest Leica M6 editions Leica has ever produced and only seldom offered. The collection of these 4 editions will not be offered seperately and these are the details about them : – Leica M6 Platinum 150 Jahre Optik + 50mm f2.8 Elmar-M // with limited edition year : 1854 – Leica M6 Platinum 150 Jahre Optik + 50mm f2.0 Summicron-M // with limited edition year : 1903 – Leica M6 Platinum 150 Jahre Optik + 50mm f1.4 Summilux-M // with limited edition year : 1926 – Leica M6 Platinum 150 Jahre Optik + 35mm f2 Summicron-M // with limited edition year : 1945 These editions were produced for the “150th anniversary” of the foundation of Carls Kellner’s Optical Institute (forerunner of Leitz) in 1849. Therefore Leica Camera issued 150 platinum plated Leica M6 cameras in 1999. Each camera is engraved with one of the years from 1849 to 1999 together with “150 Jahre Optik” and the name and optical diagram of the matching lens of the set. In total 5 different sets have been made: – Leica M6 Platinum + 50mm f2.8 Elmar-M (1850-1879) – Leica M6 Platinum + 50mm f2 Summicron-M (1880-1909) – Leica M6 Platinum + 50mm f1.4 Summilux-M (1910-1939) – Leica M6 Platinum + 35mm f2 Summicron-M (1940-1969) – Leica M6 Platinum + 35mm f1.4 Summilux-M (1970-1999) The cameras are covered with grey snakeskin and are presented in a very nice polished nut-tree root-wood box.
