Maker: On the base of the holder in this delightful salt and pepper set is the handwritten attribution “G.P. Gialletti Pimpinelli Deruta Dip. A-Mano per Fiori”. That’s the signature of the G.P. studio, one of the top artisan studios in Deruta, Italy, home of beautiful ceramics for centuries. The studio has been producing superb works of ceramic art since it was founded by Graziano Pimpinelli, a master ceramist for over forty years who still personally oversees all aspects of production. Design: The set is in the classic Deruta pattern called Ricco. The words “Sale” and “Pepe” – salt and pepper in Italian – are on the shakers. Condition: All 3 pieces are in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, discoloration, repairs or wear. They have the pinpoint pricks and inconsistencies in glazing and paint that are typical of handmade Deruta ceramics and add to their charm. Size: The shakers are about 3 3/8 inches tall. The caddy is about 6 inches long, 2 7/8 inches wide and 5 1/4 inches tall. The set weighs 1 pound 1 ounce. Please check all the photos very carefully – they are an important part of the description.
