The PRAM battery is used to store settings like date and time, time zone, display settings (resolution and color depth), boot disk, speaker volume, 24/32bit memory addressing selection, and more. Additionally, some Macintosh models require a fresh battery installed in order to output a video signal, or to turn on. MacBatt sits flat in the battery holder and snap securely into place without moving. The contact is made by a pair of gold-plated castellations on the edge of MacBatt adapter PCB. MacBatt is available in two versions: Internal: minimal footprint, the CR2032 is clipped in the MacBatt itself. External: the CR2032 is clipped in an external plastic shell that can be relocated inside or outside the computer for easy access. The CR2032 plastic housing is attached to a ~13cm wire and is equipped with an ON/OFF switch.CR2032 battery is not included.
