eBay Featured in this auction is a stunning little cabinet vase made by Rookwood Pottery. The vase is in excellent, near-perfect condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs with only a couple of tiny stray marks under the glaze and tiny areas of light scuffing from gentle use. This piece is 4-1/2″ tall, 3-3/4″ wide at the body, and 2-1/2″ wide at the top rim opening. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2855 and the production year XXVII (1927). The vase features a beautiful, art-deco design with floral and scallop motifs encircling the piece. This spectacular glaze combination is a matte seafoam blue-green underglaze with a crystalline blue-green overdrip that has curdled beautifully on the vase and adds real dimension and interest. The crystals in the glaze provide real texture to the overall finish. The vase is very clean both inside and out with small glaze drips inside and some occasional areas of thinner glaze.
