eBay Offered for sale is a CRYSTAL clear FOOTED MAYONNAISE BOWL from Viking Glass. It’s etched on the outer surface with the PRELUDE pattern, which has floral and laurel-wreath features (picture 4). The etched Prelude pattern was made by New Martinsville from 1936 to 1939, and continued in production from 1940 until 1986, when the company became Viking. This one is Viking, and it stands on three curved feet with a bark-like texture. Given the shape, this one could have been made by either New Martinsville or Viking. The dish measures 6 1/4 inches (15.9cm) in diameter, and stands 3 inches (7.6cm) tall to the rim. This is a fine example of New Martinsville/Viking’s hand made glass, and a beautiful piece to add to your collection. A U.S. quarter is shown in the third picture, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, scratches, or repairs. It DOES NOT have an original VIKING sticker. All my items are from a SMOKE FREE home.
