Original 19thC steel/copper engraving “Chariot Race in the Circus Maximus” after A. Wagner. The engraving is on heavy paper. The image is crisp and the plate marks are evident. It reads along the bottom “CHARIOT RACE IN THE CIRCUS MAXIMUS. from the original painting by A. Wagner. GEBBIE & CO.”. The engraving measures approx. 12″ x 17″ including the margins. It is in fair to good original condition with normal wear consistent with its age and use, including light water stains, yellowing, foxing spots, surface soiling, folds at the corner pencil inscriptions, and the edges show wear with small tears, chips and bends (all within the margins), ready to be framed. – (please view all photos for the best representation of quality and condition).
