This vintage Ponytail Barbie Doll from Mattel is a must-have for any doll collector. With her dark brown hair and blue eyes, this original 1962 doll is a true gem. The doll’s gender is a girl doll and she is dressed in her black and white swimsuit. The set includes the doll/swimsuit only, as shown in the pictures. This doll is an original, licensed reproduction from Japan and is part of the Ponytail Barbie product line. The year of manufacture is 1962 and the time period is from 1960-1969. The doll’s vintage status adds to its uniqueness and makes it a sought-after item. Don’t miss out on the chance to own this rare piece of history. This vintage Barbie is from my late sister’s Barbie collection. I’m not sure about her history as I found her in this okay condition. I did have to clean her hair as the rubber bands deteriorated, making the hair sticky. I replaced with plastic elastics. She would make a great project for one who is so inclined. She is missing a couple plugs in the back of her head and a couple in the front. I have taken pictures of the flaws I see. There appears to be a neck split in the back, however, it doesn’t appear to be split through and those hair plugs near it, are still intact. Her face paint is smudged and faded. The left arm is loose, but shows no separation from shoulder. The left leg looks lighter than the right, but it’s tight and doesn’t show signs of being replaced. She would be a great do-over/ooak for someone who has time and ability. She comes from a smoke-free household. If you have any questions or would like additional photos, please don’t hesitate to ask.
