eBay WWII US ARMY IN JAPAN DURING GENERAL TOJO CAPTURE PHOTOS FLAG PATCHES BOOK Named Collection Master Sergeant Simon H Haunsperger Sergeant Haunsperger served in the US ARMY from “October 1945-May 1946, where he was in charge of Engineer Soldiers engaged in the supervision, planning, and control of work executed by Japanese contractors in Tokyo’s Engineer District. Sgt Haunsperger was in charge of all concrete form Construction at “Palace Heights”, the largest of the army constructed housing projects in the Tokyo area”, according to the photocopy document signed by 1st Lt. Eugene T. Larew (see document). According to Sgt Haunsperger’s relatives, this Silk Japanese Flag **BELONGED TO** General Tojo. Collection Includes: (1) Records & approximately 360+ Photos from US Army Sergeant Simon H. Haunsperger from time he went into service until discharge and afterwards civilian life. A few photos include where Tojo was hiding (see photos), etc, as well as many photos of fellow servicemen on Military equipment, as well as photos of some Japanese civilians, and some photos of Japanese Police. Photos are Black & White and are varying sizes. Most of the photos have writing on the reverse. Some photos are attached with old fashioned corner stickers, other photos are loose. (2) Pictures of Tojo’s Headquarters during War which Sgt. Haunsperger writes “These are first pictures (original photos) of Arraignment of Tojo and his Aides. I was in charge of building a man proof fence clear around the whole area. Tojo’s Shelter written under a photo”, (3) Silk Japanese Flag (37″ wide x 25.75″ tall) — Condition–Creased from storage, slightly yellowed, some light stains, no tears. (4) Book on Japanese General Hideki Tojo written by Alvin D. Coox, Copyright 1975, Random House Publishers about his life including his Hanging, (5) Japanese Money, (6) Two Military Patches pasted on album page, (7) Large Map Copyright 1944 from National Geographic (folded, creased, yellowed, browned), (8) RESTRICTED Japanese Phrase Book from WAR DEPARTMENT dated 2/28/1944, 184 pages, pages have yellowed/browned, have that “old smell”, some pages are creased and torn, writing on back of book in pencil, (9) Small Red Flag Banner with STAR on it–all creased., (10) Human Events Newsletter from 1962 “MacArthur-Our First Muzzled General setsup Popular Government in once Autocratic Japan”, 4 pages.
