eBay I started reading and following newspaper strips in the late 1940s. I was not familiar with Milt Caniff’s Terry, George Wunder’s art and stories was my introduction to Terry and the Pirates. AS I became interested in and started collecting newspaper strips, I found Caniff’s work. A brilliant ten years, but I still have a fondness for Wunder’s art and style. The early years in the first two volumes from Hermes shows his fully moving away from Caniff and making the strip his own. That the strip was successful is without doubt, Wunder continued Terry for 26 years and it was a popular radio and a TV show in the 1950s. This is a rare and highly sought-after comic book featuring the beloved characters Terry Lee and the Pirates, written and illustrated by George Wunder. The cover art is also done by George Wunder, making it a true collector’s item for fans of US Comics and Adventure Time.
