Extremely rare black Garfield clock (Gothfield). Well loved and cared for. Some white touch ups on the mouth as pictured. Clock works perfectly. Pendulum works perfectly. It took some figuring out but it works – the trick is to attach the tail at the front, not the back as I was trying to. After the tail is attached, you place the tail perfectly beneath the magnetic plate allows it to “connect” – you can see it hold still when it magnetizes. Then push the tail to the right and let go so it has momentum on that side, not the left side. It has been going non-stop. It's held on with black electrical tape which works well and blends in seamlessly. This clock recently went viral for its rarity on TikTok with Garfield collector Quinton.reviews and one theory on the inverted colors seem to be that Garfield wasn’t yet as popular at the time this clock was made, and the black Felix the Cat look was meant to appeal to the popularity of the classic Felix wall clock of similar design. Other theories are that it was inverted to “de-Americanize” the beloved cat in an Eastern European country. PRICED HIGH TO ALLOW OFFERS!
