This lovely box was hand-made in Italy by Florentia. It features the traditional Florentine styling with hand painted detailing and gilt work. The top image appears to be on a thick piece of cardstock or art paper. The image is actually called “Doves On A Drinking Vessel.” It is from a piece of 1st Century Mosiac Art from the city of Pompeii that is currently displayed at the Archaelogical Museum of Naples Italy. This box is a charming way to add vintage warmth to a side table, bookcase or dresser. Length: 4″ Width: 4″ Height: 2 1/8″ No cracks. This is a vintage box that has been used. It has wear, especially on its corners and edges, that is consistent with age and use. To me, the wear adds to the vintage feel of this box by giving it an aged patina.
