This complete, 100% original, Vintage Matchbox 1974 Hi-Tailer has the RARE Blue Driver, 5 Spoke Square Front Wheels and Silver Maltese Cross Back Wheels. This collectible was from the Matchbox Superfast 1-75 series, made in 1974 and discontinued in 1979. It features a white paint job with orange, white, black and blue “Team Matchbox #5” stickers. The blue driver sits inside a chrome cockpit flanked by a chrome engine with four exhaust pipes extending back toward the rear of the vehicle. It has a die cast metal undercarriage that extends down the length of the vehicle forming the taillight in the rear. All four wheels are in vintage excellent condition and it rolls very smoothly, like it just came out of the box. It was manufactured in England and has only had one owner. This 1974 Hi-Tailer is in Vintage good condition. The white enamel is in vintage good condition with wear from age and play. The stickers are in vintage good condition also with wear from age and play. I looked at it with a high powered light under a magnifying glass and found the following flaws. Both sides are relatively clean with 5-6 micro chips in the enamel.The edges, starting at the front wheel well on the driver’s right side are worn with chips in the enamel, most of the flaws are on the front bumper.The edges on the rear wing also have some wear on the corners and edges of the enamel.The sticker on the back wing has pretty clean edges, there is some fading on the blue stripes and some discoloration from the adhesive leeching through the paper.The sticker on the front wing has a gouge on the front edge by the driver’s left side and has 3 pock marks on the front end on the driver’s right hand side. There is also some discoloration from the adhesive leeching through the paper. Please look over the photos carefully to determine the condition for yourself.
