This is a Perfect True Temper double bit axe with phantom bevels. It has a label on the handle that states “Reliable; Second Growth Hickory; Central Hdwe. Co., St. Louis. MO”. The Central Hardware Co. was started about 1903. The axe head is solid on the handle. There is pitting and wear to the axe head (see pics for condition). There is a small sliver of wood missing from one shoulder edge of the handle. This is a hard to find axe with a piece of history attached to it that will make a great addition to any axe collection or display. Thanks.
