The boy’s pose and facial expression give the impression he is daydreaming about something – sort of reminds me of a Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn and reminiscent of summer days long ago. The sculpture is made of pewter and the base is a beautiful reddish marble with black veins. The marble base measures approximately 7” long x 4 1/8” wide x 13/16” thick. The base of the pewter sculpture is set onto the marble with about a ¼” offset all the way around the base and measures approximately 6 ½” long x 3 ½ wide x ½” thick. The total height of the boy on the marble base is 3 5/8” tall. This is a very heavy piece that weighs 4 pounds 6.6 ounces. This is a unique and extremely hard to find piece; so, don’t let it slip through your fingers. The photos do not do this piece justice.
