Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at an obscure, rarer Rauland Borg 1285 model dynamic cardioid microphone from the 1980’s set at Low impedance / 250 OHMS. It comes with the original mic pouch, cable, and mic clip shown. Pic # 2 shows a 1285 model data sheet with some basic info on the mic itself though the data sheet is not part of this sale. I believe that this mic is actually a rebadges Astatic 960 model as the design is exactly the same. Rauland Borg has sold many microphones over the decades under license so this is most likely the case. Regardless, the R.B 1285 is a very high quality model mic. It’s an all metal design with a rugged build. The low Z setting gives it a warm, smooth tone making this ideal for singing and studio work. The frequency range is 40 – 16,000 HZ and it has excellent uni-directional qualities. The flat dark grey finish on the mic gives it a slightly more ominous and aggressive vibe. More character than the standard stick mics of today. As seen in the pictures provided this mic has a very good overall original finish. Typical lite wear in the form of a couple small blemishes. The R.B label is very good with some lite wear but completely legible. The metal mesh screen is perfect with zero odors, tarnish or dents. The original inner foam pop filter is excellent as well. The XLR pins were cleaned on this mic ensuring a perfect signal once the cable is attached. On / off switch slides smooth with zero issues. The cosmetic condition I would rate a very conservative 8 on a scale of 1 – 10 though some would rate higher. Let the pictures be your guide please. The mic comes with a plastic mic clip that fits the mic perfectly and provides a wide degree of tilt up and down. It’s in very nice condition and will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have. The black vinyl mic pouch is included and a great place to keep the mic when not in use to decrease any chance of physical wear. The mic takes a standard XLR cable though none is included. If you want to use something that few musicians have today…the 1285 will certainly do. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE… If you need a stand for the mic that is period…just ask and I’ll show you what I have listed online. And as with all my items… I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not…I have a no hassle return policy.
