Copyrighted in 1920 and published in 1950 by Little, Brown & Company in Boston, this classic hardcover book follows the adventures of Peter Rabbit, as he learns about the animals who share the Green Meadows and Forest with him. Although the book is very much true to life with the style of illustrations and how it depicts animals and their environment, it was written in storybook style as an engaging way of teaching children about the wide variety of animal life found in North America. The book measures approximately 8″ x 5.5″ with 363 pages including an index in back. The front cover features a paste down picture of a bull moose standing in marsh waters at sunset, and the book is illustrated throughout with tipped in full-page illustrations, many in color, done by the talented hand of Louis Agassiz Fuertes. It shows little signs of wear, mostly on the cover, and is otherwise in very good condition, clean and well taken care of with a sturdy binding, no loose or missing pages, no pen or pencil marks and no bad odors.
